چکیده
The manoeuvring performance of a ship in shallow water is substantially different from its deep water, attributed to effects caused by the presence finite depth. Without doubt will navigate areas at various times during operational life (such as when approaching harbours or ports), which underscores importance understanding on manoeuvrability. In present paper, manoeuvrability KRISO Container Ship (KCS) model conditions was comprehensively analysed means unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) computations coupled with equations rigid body motion full six degrees freedom (6DOF). A dynamic overset grid approach implemented allow hull move 6DOF computational domain and enable rudder be deflected according controller for free-running manoeuvres. series simulations were performed waters depth draft ratios varying between 1.2 4.0, partially validated available experimental data free running test. numerical results revealed that advance, transfer, tactical diameter mainly increased decrease ratio draft, closely associated complicated interactions wake, boundary layer, propeller, vortex, sea floor.

High-Fidelity Finite-Element Modeling of Shallow-Water Target Scattering
The goal of this three-year effort is to develop a state-of-the-art, high-fidelity, finite-element, broadband computer simulation capability for modeling the scattering of sonar signals by undersea mines located in or near the seabed in littoral environments with smooth or rippled water/sediment interfaces. The target models will include all internal and external structural details that signifi...
متن کاملShip Hull Hydrodynamic Analysis Using Distributed Shared Memory
In this article we present the results obtained from the execution of a commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics program on a cluster of personal computers. The communication and data interchange between the nodes uses a Distributed Shared Memory (DSM) system called TreadMarks. The parallelized program was run on a 100Mbit/s Ethernet network connecting 4 personal computers. Using data similar to...

Geoacoustic inversion of ship radiated noise in shallow water using data from a single hydrophone.
The Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation conducted a geoacoustic inverse experiment in the Mediterranean Sea in the summer of 2012. Among the objectives was to employ an autonomous underwater vehicle to collect acoustic data to invert for properties of the seafloor. Inversion results for the compression wave speed in the bottom and the source spectrum of the R/V Alliance during a cl...
متن کاملNumerical Estimation of Shallow Water Resistance of a River-Sea Ship using CFD
In recent years a great deal of research efforts in ship hydromechanics have been devoted to practical navigation problems in moving larger ships safely into existing harbours and inland waterways and to ease congestion in existing shipping routes. The starting point of any navigational or design analysis lies in the accurate determination of the hydrodynamic forces generated on the ship hull m...
